Lucas Giovagnoli

Lucas Giovagnoli is a harmonica player, composer, performer, and educator with over 25 years of experience, based in Rosario, Argentina. Throughout his career, he has deeply explored both diatonic and chromatic harmonicas across genres such as funk, blues, country, and folk. For more than 15 years, he has specialized in Celtic music.

He is one of the few harmonica players to have thoroughly researched this tradition, adapting melodies originally written for fiddle, bagpipes, tin whistle, and accordion to harmonicas in various tunings. This exploration has led to a unique personal style and a wide-ranging repertoire of both traditional tunes and original compositions, showcased in his most recent album, Cabra.

He has been a member of groups such as Botas Tejanas (country), The Hoochie Coochie Band (blues), and Greenstone Waters (Celtic). He currently leads Lucas Giovagnoli y el Corso Triste and Río Verde, projects that blend Celtic music with rock and funk, offering an innovative sound with the harmonica at its core.

Alongside his artistic work, Lucas is also a dedicated educator. As a faculty member at the Buenos Aires Harmonica School, he is a leading figure in the teaching of Celtic harmonica, delivering clinics, educational concerts, talks, and workshops across different regions. He has published instructional materials focused on alternative tunings and specialized techniques, contributing to the growth of the harmonica in new musical contexts.
